About Us
Welcome to the “New” Long Last Kennels (DBA Caves Valley Pet Lodge). Long Last Kennels Inc. is one of the oldest licensed kennels & grooming salons in our area, dating back to 1945, or longer, as far as historical records have it, and it’s the only “home” based kennel in the area which allows us to be on site most of the day. Originally the kennel was operated at a much larger scale prior to and by Loraine Donahue, a well known and respected breeder in our area, with a higher knowledge of care for dogs. Loraine also stayed very well connected to other professionals in the area. The kennel has been and still is exclusively operated by female entrepreneurs. We are located in the Caves Valley Maryland area and service clients from as far as Virginia, Washington DC, New York, Pennsylvania, & in our home state of Maryland. All of our clients become our family while they visit.

Our facility doors officially opened in May 2021 under new ownership and new management. We have been busy, working diligently to remodel and clean up a long outdated look. We have added security to all areas through the use of cameras, lighting, mag locks, smoke and heat detectors, that are monitored through a central station. The buildings have all new air-conditioning and heat pumps for the comfort of our guests. We are equipped with a generator which runs the entire facility in an outage. See our photo page as we post improvements as they occur. Future tours will be noted on that page as well.
All pets that visit us are cared for by our team of caregivers with lots of outdoor space and very frequent outings. We do not charge extra for outings, which consist of exercise time and playtime all monitored. Safety is our first priority; therefore not all dogs are placed together and we have space for loners who cannot be with other dogs. Upon owners authority, after temperament testing, and with dogs who are proven friendly to others, we allow packs to be no larger than 5 to 7 dogs. These packs are supervised by 2 or 3 people at a time. We will always reduce risk by frequently rotating any and all dogs through our yards and runs.
We also do pet sitting, house sitting and cat boarding. Our grooming services extend to dogs and cats.

Grooming dogs and Cats
We provide the best in grooming services for dogs and cats. Our experienced team of certified pet groomers are dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable grooming experience for your pet. We use only the highest quality products and equipment, and we are experienced in all breeds.
bathing dogs and cats
We start by brushing the pet to remove any loose fur or debris. We then wet the pet with warm water and use a gentle soap to cleanse the fur and skin. After rinsing the pet completely, we use a high-velocity dryer to blow off any excess water, followed by brushing out the fur.

We offer pet sitting services for all types of animals. Our pet sitters are experienced in caring for cats, dogs, rodents, and other small animals. We offer services such as feeding, watering, cleaning cages and litter boxes, providing play and exercise, administering medications, and grooming.
house sitting
Our house sitting staff is trained to provide the highest quality of care for your pet and will always treat them with the love and respect that they deserve. We make sure to provide plenty of exercise, playtime, and companionship to make sure your pet is happy and healthy.

We take every precaution to ensure that your pet arrives safely and securely to its destination. Our experienced staff will provide your pet with the highest level of care and comfort. We offer a variety of transportation options to fit your needs, from local to international.

Long Last Kennels is an all-inclusive dog boarding facility dedicated to providing your pet with the best possible care and attention. Our staff is trained to handle all types of breeds and temperaments, and our facility is equipped with climate-controlled kennels and a safe, secure exercise area.
